How to choose
You are coming for the sea. Every minute counts in the morning: Sharm el-Maya is the harbour itself, Umm El Seid and Sharks Bay are less than a quarter of an hour away. Nabq, at thirty minutes, means an earlier start for every boat trip.
You are coming to dive. Ras Nasrani faces the Strait of Tiran, and both Sharks Bay and Umm El Seid have a reef reachable from the beach — you dive without taking a boat.
You are coming with children. Nabq is a nature reserve — quiet, with large resorts; Naama Bay concentrates restaurants and nightlife, which suits some and bothers others.
