Frequently asked questions
The eight questions we are asked most, and our answers. If yours is not here, write to us: we reply within 2 hours, Saturday to Thursday.
Should I book before I travel, or once I am there?
Booking ahead secures your place, your French-speaking guide and the price shown. On the ground, the most sought-after trips — Ras Mohammed, Cairo, Petra — sell out days ahead in high season, and street sellers negotiate case by case with no guarantee as to who will actually run the trip.
How does payment work?
Payment is made in euros by card, before you travel, at the time of booking. You receive an invoice and a voucher in your name. No cash is asked of you on arrival, except for the options flagged on each page.
Where and at what time will I be collected?
You are collected from your hotel reception, both out and back, on every one of our excursions. The exact time is confirmed by WhatsApp the evening before, because it depends on your area — Nabq is furthest from the harbour and leaves about thirty minutes earlier than Naama Bay.
What happens if the weather stops the trip?
If we cancel — wind, heavy seas, a domestic flight pulled — you choose between moving the trip to another date during your stay and a full refund. Every page states the weather threshold that applies.
Why are hotel rates not shown?
A hotel rate depends on the season, the length of stay, the room type and the make-up of the family: a published price would be wrong in most cases. We would rather send you a firm offer within 2 hours, valid 7 days, worked out on your actual dates.
I cannot swim — can I still do the sea trips?
Yes for the semi-submarine and the glass-bottom boat, which are done entirely dry. On snorkelling trips a buoyancy vest is provided and the escort stays in the water with anyone who is uneasy — but we would steer you away from Tiran, where the sea often runs heavy.
Are children accepted?
The minimum age is given in the briefing on each page and ranges from «all ages» for the semi-submarine to 16 to drive a quad bike. A child rate applies up to and including age 11 across much of the catalogue.
What papers do I need for Petra and Jerusalem?
A passport valid for six months beyond your return date is required; an identity card is not accepted. The Jordanian group visa is included in the price for Petra. For Cairo and Luxor a domestic flight or coach is involved: the passport you used to enter Egypt is enough.
